Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

A high-ranking official commented the incident left him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
